Boks lead at the break

Ireland 6 South Africa 10

Jonathan Sexton kicked two penalties but Ireland still trailed South Africa 10-6 at half-time in today’s Test at Croke Park.

Schalk Burger scored the only try of a pulsating half, crossing in the 16th minute after Ireland’s scrum had been pulverised.

Morne Steyn converted and added a drop goal to increase a lead the Springboks failed to justify given Ireland’s superiority.
