Gardaí arrest six in two separate post office raids

Six men have been arrested in connection with two separate attempted raids on post offices.
Three men were arrested in Dundalk, Co Louth, whilst another three were arrested in Finglas, in north Dublin.
At around 10.30am this morning, three men were arrested in what is believed to have been an attempted post office robbery at Bridge Street in Dundalk, Co Louth.
They were detained by Gardaí who were in the area of the post office monitoring a cash delivery by a security company.
Two were arrested at the scene on Bridge Street, whilst the third man was arrested some distance away in Kilcurry.
A hatchet was also recovered near the scene.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, three men were arrested and a firearm was recovered during an attempted robbery at a post office on the Ballygall road in Finglas, Dublin at around 8am this morning.
Gloves, masks and boilersuits were also recovered.
The three men, all in their 20's, are being detained at Finglas garda station.
