Toyota recalls 58 Prius cars in Ireland

Toyota Ireland has annoucned that it is to recall 58 units of its third-generation Prius.

The move is being made to carry out a modification to the software used to manage the vehicle's Anti Lock Brake System.

Any Prius sold in Ireland before November 2009 is not affected - neither are any other Toyota or Lexus models.

Meanwhile, a lawyer in the UK is warning people owning a Toyota Prius not to drive it until the car has been checked out.

It comes as the Japanese car maker recalls a total of 400,000 petrol-electric hybrid cars around the world.
